" I wanted to try something new for dinner, and Bistro Eloise was my pick. I haven't found a good French restaurant in Elmhurst (or East Elmhurst), so I was skeptical in trying it out. It is conveniently located next to Cannelle bakery and in a large parking lot, so parking is not an issue. The decor is welcoming and the hostess is quite friendly and helpful. Everyone checks to make sure things are OK, and they do keep attention to your water glass.
The food is very tasty. I had the escargot and it was tender. The puff pastry mixes well with the tomato sauce that the escargot is cooked in. The brie melted in puff pastry and salad was good, but I may try another appetizer next time. My main course was the pasta with mushrooms and the flavor hit all the right taste buds. I also had a taste of the pasta with the mussels and shrimp and it had a nice, creamy white sauce that tasted like seafood broth. Everything went down easy and the chocolate mousse and lemon tart desserts were a nice way to end the meal. Overall I found this little gem to be someplace I can go back to try something new. I still like my escargot baked in garlic butter and cilantro, but the taste Bistro Eloise gives is a great alternative. You will leave full and happy, just leave room for dessert.
